The company currently offers several positions in various departments. Candidates should be self-motivated individuals who are comfortable in a high-paced poultry production environment.

 

Desired Qualifications and Physical Demands

All positions require that candidates be detail oriented, organized and mindful of production deadlines. Based on individual positions, any of the qualifications below may apply.

 

 Must be able to work with hands in order to weigh, label and place packaged product in boxes. Possess the ability to read and understand product identification and codes. Have the ability to handle and use knives, scissors, and other cutting instruments. Previous experience in one of the following fields is required:  Production, Deboning, Weight and Price, Weigh and Price, Tray Pack, Evisceration, Live Hang and Deboning or Cut Up.

 

Additionally, some positons require that applicants understand the breast line yield goals and possess the ability to work with knives and handle raw chicken and poultry carcasses. Work will include but is not limited to packing, labeling, hanging and stacking boxes.

 

Positions require to regularly stand and walk, and to make repetitively use of arms, wrists and hands. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50-100 lbs. on a regular basis.

Specific Job Functions by Position

EVISCERATOR

§  Work for a full shift from a standing position.

§  Handle and work with poultry entrails.

§  Use scissors, knives and other hand tools.

§  Ability to carry out repetitive motions of the arms, wrists and hands.

§  Follow production rules.

§  Maintain clean and safe working environment.

§  Participate in Company and department safety program.

§  Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

§  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

DEBONER

§Predominately work pulling skin from chicken breast.

§Must be able to use a knife, full time, and be able to keep the knife sharp.

§Must be able to work in a fast paced, detail oriented environment.

§Work for a full shift from a standing position.

§Must be able to work at line speed of 35 birds per minute within 2 weeks of hire.

§Place chicken pieces on cones for de-boning.

§Maintain clean and safe working environment.

§Participate in Company and department safety program.

§Ability to carry out repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, and hands.

§Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

§Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

PACK OUT

§Loading and packing poultry products.

§Repetitively lift boxes from 35 to 50 lbs.

§Fast paced repetitive motion of the arms, wrists and hand.

§Bagging, hanging, tagging, and sealing bags, stacking boxes.

§Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

§Participate in company and department safety program.

§Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

§Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

REPACK

§Place chicken into sections on machine for packaging into tray-less package.

§Arrange chicken on conveyor belt following the procedures given by the supervisor.

§Inspect packaged product to ensure proper packaging with no defects.

§Place labels on the product.

§Dump tubs of product onto conveyor.

§Place packaged product into baskets and then stack baskets.

§Move baskets of product into coolers or freezers.

§Work entire shift while standing.

§Ability to make repetitive motion movements using arms, hands, and wrists for an entire shift.

§Maintain work area clean and safe.

§Participate in the Company and Departmental Safety program.

§Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

§Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Education and Experience

High school education not required but beneficial.

 

Language Skills

Ability to understand, speak, and write fluent English.

Spanish a plus but not required.

 

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to accurately carry out instructions given by supervisor is essential.

 

Work Environment

Work environment is predominantly wet and exposed to a variety of odors as well as presenting with hot and cold temperatures. Ice box storage and chilled warehouse conditions may be present with moderate to extreme levels of noise. Safety protection is provided.

Compensation

Up to $11/hour

Positions are under the collective bargaining unit of the UFCW. Required 90-day probation period applies. Excellent medical benefits are available. Candidates must be at least 19 years of age.
